The restaurant has been under new management since 2015 and the food is freshly prepared and reasonably priced. The Hermanus is walking distance from all the cottages.Nelson Head, Horsey
The Nelson pub in the village of Horsey is a free house with a huge open fire in the bar area. There’s a full menu and daily specials. From the pub there is a number of beautiful circular walks, or the beach is half a mile away. From late October to early March there are hundreds of grey seals with their pups on the beach – an amazing sight. You can walk to Horsey from Winterton along the beach, or there is parking at the pub.
Poppylands, Horsey
A 1940’s themed tea rooms offers an immersive atmosphere where even the staff dress in Second World War attire. Pamela's, Great Yarmouth
If you're celebrating something very special (and book in advance) then Pamela’s in the place to go! If you don't mind travelling a little further afield we recommend either The Ingham Swan or The Gunton Arms which are firm favourites.
Dunes Barn Waxham Barn
Sadly the much loved Dunes Cafe has relocated to Acle Bridge after losing it’s building at the Winterton car park during the September 2020 storms. Replacing the Dunes Cafe, two Airstream catering units have been positioned on the Beach Road car park so you can still get a great bacon butty if out walking at Winterton.
